Old-timers traveling Lake Superior’s North Shore Scenic Drive would be hard pressed to remember what the old MacDilles Motel looked like when compared with The Inn on Gitche Gumee today. Butch and Julie Sievert bought the motel in 1986 and have since completely reconfigured and renovated it, adding a cottage, three-season gardens, and four upper suites with balcony decks.
