The 3 Bear's Cottage

Retreat to your own private cottage. Enjoy a bowl of porridge in a full kitchen with breakfast nook facing Lake Superior. Kick up your paws and relax in Papa, Mama, or Baby Bear's chairs. Take in the "Grrrr..eat" view of Lake Superior from your deck and large living/dining area.

Hibernate in the four-poster black walnut barked king-sized bed or soak in the adjacent two bear whirlpool tub. Mama and Papa Bear's bedroom opens to view the fireplace and Lake Superior, while Baby Bear sleeps among the stars on a four-poster queen-sized birch tree bed. With futons in the living area, the 3 Bear's Cottage can sleep a den of up to 8.

This suite is lovingly named after our grandparents, Carl and Gladys Anderson. It is bright and cheery and filled with treasured antiques and antique replicas. Remembrances of their life in an early American home on a dairy farm in Barnum, Minnesota have been placed with care.

Located on the second floor, it has a living room with full futon, kitchen, dining area, and separate bedroom with an antique four-poster queen-sized bed. Sleeps up to four.

Enjoy the revolving seasons among wolves. Your perfect get-away! Handmade birchbark and pine accents will beckon you. Experience the glow from your stone fireplace and towering pines outside your window. A quilted queen-sized pine tree bed with chainsawn eagle carvings will keep you safe and comfy during Lake Superior breezes.

Accents of nature will surround you with a touch of "Up North" as you relax in your heart-shaped double whirlpool. Handmade curtains and a quilted queen- sized bed will make you feel right at home. The Hideout is located on the first floor and has a separate bedroom. It is perfect for two, but with the double futon in the living area, can sleep up to four.

Woodsy fragrances will warmly greet you when you walk through the door of this suite. Everywhere you look you will see items made of birch ­ like the framed mirror, curtain rods, and rustic four-poster bed. Its cozy atmosphere will make you want to return again and again.

Located on the first floor, it has a queen-sized bed and full futon in the front room, and a separate bedroom with a queen bed. Sleeps up to six.

Dedicated to Lake Superior, this suite is decorated with a northern country decor, ships, and lighthouses. Snuggle in a queen-sized bed under a handmade flannel pieced quilt, or enjoy a Lake Superior view of cargo carrying ships, city lights, and the Duluth Harbor Aerial Lift Bridge.

Make a great escape and migrate north to the Loon's Nest. Relax and enjoy loons year round. This suite is trimmed in birdseye pine, decorated with natural wreaths, log furniture, birch accessories, and has a quilted queen-sized bed.

Bedroom for Okabena Suite

These first floor adjoining suites carry a Native American theme with Indian blankets, and birch accessories. They can be reserved separately, but together sleep up to eight.

The Dreamcatcher is one large room with a stone fireplace and four-poster queen-sized birch tree dreamcatcher bed. With a full futon, it sleeps up to four.

The Okabena Suite* has rustic black walnut kitchen cabinets and trim throughout. A full futon in the living area, plus separate bedroom with a four-poster queen-sized black walnut bed, sleep up to four.
