Each suite has a theme and is decorated with Butch’s hand-hewn wood artistry, nature accents, fresh flowers, and hand-piece quilts. Each can accommodate from four up to eight people. Four suites have stone fireplaces and two have double whirlpools. The lower suites are wheelchair accessible. All are non-smoking.

All the comforts of home are included –TV/DVD, charcoal grills, microwave, refrigerator, phone, wireless Internet, air-conditioning, private bath with tub and shower, ample linens, and either a deck or balcony overlooking three-season gardens, playground and bonfire pit.

Enjoy complimentary morning coffee or tea, the rocky pathway to Lake Superior, and non-stop breathtaking views of lake Superior from your balcony or deck.

3 Bears' Cottage

Retreat to your own private cottage. Enjoy a bowl of porridge in a full kitchen with breakfast nook facing Lake Superior. Kick up your paws and relax in Papa, Mama, or Baby Bear’s chairs. Take in the “Grrrr..eat” view of Lake Superior from your deck and large living/dining area. Hibernate in the four-poster black walnut barked king-size bed or soak in the adjacent two bear whirlpool tub. Mama and Papa Bear’s bedroom opens to view the fireplace and Lake Superior, while Baby Bear sleeps among the stars on a four-poster queen-size birch tree bed. With futons in the living area, the 3 Bears’ Cottage can sleep a den of up to eight.

Great Lake Suite

Dedicated to Lake Superior, this suite is decorated with a northern country décor, ships, and lighthouse. Snuggle in a queen-size captain’s bed under a hand-pieced quilt, or enjoy a Lake Superior view of cargo carrying ships, city lights, and the Duluth Harbor Aerial Lift Bridge. Located on the second floor, it has a living room with a full futon, kitchen, dining area, and separate bedroom. Sleeps up to four.

Wolves’ Den

Enjoy revolving seasons among wolves. Rest in a queen-size bed with pine chainsawn eagle carvings. Experience the glow of your stone fireplace while looking out over Lake Superior. A perfect getaway! Located on the second floor with kitchen, dining area, and full futon. Sleeps up to four.

Hideout

Nature surrounds you while relaxing in your heart-shaped double whirlpool. Rest easy in a large, hand-hewn two-poster birch tree bed – branches and all – a real northern hideout! Located on the first floor with loveseats that open into twin-size beds in the living area and a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed. Sleeps four.

Loons’ Nest

Make a great escape and migrate north to the Loons’ Nest. Relax and enjoy loons year round. This suite is trimmed in birdseye pine, decorated with natural wreaths and log furniture. Take in the view of Lake Superior from a quilted queen-size four poster birch tree bed while warmed by the glow of your fireplace. Located on the second floor with a full futon, kitchen, dining area, and fireplace. Sleeps up to four.

Cabin

Woodsy fragrances and cozy cabin feel embrace you as you enter this suite. Birch décor is used throughout including a four-poster birch tree bed. Snuggle under handmade quilts to keep warm during Lake Superior breezes. Located on the first floor with a queen-size bed and full futon in the front room, and a separate bedroom with a queen-size diamond willow bed. Sleeps up to six.

Anderson Suite

This suite is lovingly named after our grandparents, Carl and Gladys Anderson. It is bright and cheery and filled with treasured antiques and antique replicas. Remembrances of their life in an early American home on a dairy farm in Barnum, Minnesota have been placed with care. Located on the second floor, it has a living room with full futon, kitchen, dining area, and separate bedroom with an antique four-poster queen-size bed. Sleeps up to four.

The Okabena Suite* has rustic black walnut kitchen cabinets and trim throughout. A full futon in the living area plus separate bedroom with a four-poster queen-size black walnut bed can sleep up to four.

* The Sioux Indian word, “Okabena”, means “Home-of-the-Heron”. Okabena, Minn. is Butch Sievert’s hometown.
